By priming your surface with lifting preparation, watercolours can easily be lifted back up with a wet cloth or brush. Even staining colours can be removed by simply working the colour with a wet brush then blotting away the lifted colour. Lifting preparation does not make colours more water soluble so you can still work over them as normal
